Convert a schedule to an Excel workbook
Drop the schedule, then take the workbook. Dates are dates, durations are numbers, and float is calculated. Sorting and filtering work, because nothing is written as text.
Drop a schedule file
Microsoft Project XML, Primavera P6 XER, GanttProject .gan, CSV or .xlsx table, .mpp recognised. Or
This table, column by column
Check what each column holds before reading. A table read wrong does not show: it gives a plausible schedule that is false.

Comparison with another version
The open file is the earlier version. Drop the version to compare.
When to use it
The schedule has to go into a tracking table, a monthly review, a report. Copying from a Gantt chart gives you text, and text does not sort.
Or the schedule has to be crossed with something else: a budget, a headcount table, a list of work packages.
What this page does
- One row per task, with its identifier, level, name, duration and progress.
- The dates stored in the file and the recalculated dates, in separate columns: they are never mixed.
- Total float and free float, in working days, negative values included.
- The critical path, hard constraints and deadlines, in columns.
- The first row is frozen and filtered. A 5,000-row workbook is written in under a second.
What it does not do: This is not a Gantt chart inside Excel: it is the schedule data, in columns. For a bar chart, take the PDF or the image. The workbook is not read back by Klargantt: spreadsheet reading comes later.
What is read
- Microsoft Project XML, Primavera P6 XER, GanttProject .gan, a CSV or .xlsx table.
- The workbook opens in Excel, LibreOffice Calc, Numbers and Google Sheets.
No file is uploaded: the schedule is read by your browser, in this tab, and the page is not allowed to open a connection to any other site.
Frequently asked questions
- Why do my dates arrive as text with other converters?
- Because they write the date the way it is displayed. A spreadsheet expects a number, with the display format next to it. That is what is written here, which is what makes sorting and arithmetic possible.
- Is the file sent to a server?
- No. The workbook is built in your browser, in this tab, and lands straight in your downloads.
- Can I export only part of the schedule?
- The workbook covers the whole schedule. The level, milestone and critical path columns let you filter inside the spreadsheet.
